Caller FAQ

  • Why do you prefer text or phone instead of an intake form?

Most people who reach out about booking a caller are still early in planning — dates, timing, and event details are often fluid. Because of that, an intake form usually forces you to make decisions before you’re ready.

Texting or calling lets us quickly talk through the details, explore options, and help you shape the right program for your event. It’s a much smoother process than trying to fit everything into a form.

  • Should I text first?

Yes. Texting is the best way to start the conversation. It’s low‑pressure, quick, and lets us understand what you’re looking for before scheduling a call.

  • When is calling better?

Calling is ideal once you have a general idea of your event and want to finalize details, confirm availability, or talk through program options.

  • Do you still use intake forms?

We use intake forms only after the main details are settled. They’re helpful for collecting final information, but not for the early planning stage.

  • Do you teach the dances?

Yes. Every dance we lead is taught step‑by‑step by a caller so guests of all ages can participate confidently. No prior experience is needed — we guide the room from the very first movement to the final pattern.

  • How long does a dance program last?

Most programs run at least 60–90 minutes, depending on the event. For weddings, school programs, and community events, we tailor the length to fit your schedule — from short icebreakers to full evening programs.

  • What ages can participate?

Our dance programs work for all ages. We regularly lead events with children, teens, adults, and mixed‑age groups. The caller adjusts teaching style and dance selection to match the age range and energy of your event.

  • Do we need special equipment?

No special equipment is required. All you need is a relatively clear space to dance. For music, we can either plug into your existing sound system or bring our own speakers and audio equipment. All we need is a standard three‑prong 120‑volt outlet. Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended, but not required.

  • What types of events can we book?

Heritage dances, weddings, barn dances, community events, homeschool gatherings, church socials, school groups,  camp groups, and more.

  • Do you travel?

Yes — Lori and Christopher regularly travel throughout Indiana and surrounding states.
