Callers

Steps in Time is guided by a team of callers who bring clarity, confidence, and historical charm to every dance. Our callers help dancers of all ages feel comfortable, supported, and fully engaged in the joy of traditional social dance. Meet the callers who lead our events with skill, warmth, and a steady hand.

Lori Borre

Lori has been steeped in music for nearly fifty years and dancing since the fifth grade, when a school gym

Virginia Reel stole her heart. Today she calls for groups of 10 to 500 across multiple states, turning first-timers and

self-proclaimed non-dancers into people who leave the floor saying, “I had no idea how much fun this was going to be.”

She and the Steps in Time team don’t just call dances. They bring the party. They expand the circle—creating new dancers, connecting generations, and curating music and styles that feel both timeless and surprisingly fresh. The result is nights people later call “the best night of my life.”

Christopher Borre

Christopher has been dancing since before he could walk. Growing up, he spent countless evenings at Scottish Balls, often riding on his dad’s back as the music played and dancers filled the floor. Those early experiences sparked a love of dance that has stayed with him ever since.

After seven years of Irish dance, Christopher has continued exploring new styles and currently enjoys swing dancing and line dancing whenever he gets the chance. He loves the energy, laughter, and connection that happen when people gather to dance together.

Outside of dance, Christopher plays soccer and piano, but nothing quite compares to seeing a room full of people smiling, moving, and having fun. As a caller, he hopes to create an atmosphere where everyone—from experienced dancers to complete beginners—feels welcome and excited to join in.
